Iga Swiatek overcame a tough challenge to secure a victory and a spot in the quarter-finals at the WTA tournament in Madrid, scoring 2:1 (6:4, 7:6, 6:3) against Ekaterina Alexandrova.

On Monday, Pole Świątek experienced a difficult start to her match with Russian Aleksandrova, who broke back in the first game. However, Pole soon stepped up her game, dominating the court with her powerful serves. After some back and forth, Świątek ultimately clinched the first set with a score of 4-6. Aleksandrova was unable to withstand the pressure of the Pole’s serve, and the deciding game saw her playing her weakest of the match.

Polish tennis player Iga Swiatek was relentless in the second set against her opponent Aleksandrova. After Russian hit the net twice and once out of bounds, the score was 0-3 for Swiatek. Aleksandrova looked more and more defeated as the match progressed but managed to muster some strength to prolong her hopes.

Swiatek was in full control of the match and it was 5-3. Aleksandrova took a risk and it paid off, leading to a tie-break. However, Swiatek was in top form and managed to win the tie-break 7-3, securing her victory in the match.

A third set was needed to determine the outcome of the match between tennis players Ekaterina Aleksandrova and Iga Świątek. Despite a rocky start, in which the Pole lost the first game, she displayed impressive sportsmanship and skill in the consecutive games and went on to take the lead soon. Aleksandrova put up a strong fight, but the Polish player stayed composed and eventually won the match 6:4, 6:7, 6:3. The Polish player moves on to the quarter-finals of the tournament to face Petra Martić on Wednesday.
