Paweł Szefernaker will head President Karol Nawrocki’s cabinet, with Jarosław Dębowski as his deputy. Dr. Rafał Leśkiewicz will serve as the presidential spokesperson, Karol Nawrocki revealed in an exclusive interview with Telewizja Republika.
During his appearance on Republika, Nawrocki discussed the personnel composition of his new presidential office.
“Just as I amusingly followed the campaign rumors about myself, which were often far from the truth, now I am similarly amused observing speculations about my future team. Everything, in reality, is listed on a piece of paper at my home, and I don’t feel anyone has peeked at it,” Karol Nawrocki told journalist Danuta Holecka.
He emphasized that he is holding meaningful discussions with seasoned politicians he has encountered in his career, as well as individuals who have never been politically involved but have always served the Polish state. “This will characterize my office: partly experienced politicians, partly individuals from outside politics,” he explained.
The president-elect then shared with Republika viewers some specific names from his upcoming administration.
“This mix perfectly captures the balance between politics and civil society that my office will embody. The chief will be Paweł Szefernaker, a politician of a new generation who has shown openness to public input. Very experienced politically, but also responsive to social aspects. His deputy will be Jarosław Dębowski, previously my office director at the Institute of National Remembrance (IPN). He is someone entirely outside politics, possessing extensive competence and organizational skills. This duo will manage my office,” Nawrocki revealed.
Dr. Rafał Leśkiewicz will take on the role of presidential spokesperson.
“He is an excellent historian and has also been an outstanding spokesperson for the Institute of National Remembrance. He has done truly remarkable work and is a very courageous person, not connected to politics. These are the three names I can disclose today,” Nawrocki added.
