The disclosure of these documents has strengthened Poland’s security because it demonstrated both to citizens at home and to our allies abroad that this doctrine, though erroneous in the past, is now obsolete, stated Szymon Szynkowski vel Sęk, former head of Polish diplomacy, on Republika TV.
At 10:00 AM, Mariusz Błaszczak is scheduled to hear charges and be interrogated as a suspect at the Military Affairs Department of the District Prosecutor’s Office in Warsaw. A demonstration in support of Błaszczak began at 9:30 AM in front of the prosecutor’s office building.
The case concerns the disclosure of Poland’s defence plans, which envisaged defence lines along the Vistula River.
Strengthening Poland’s Security
In my opinion, the disclosure of these documents has strengthened Poland’s security because it showed both to citizens at home and to our allies abroad that this doctrine was erroneous in the past but is now obsolete, Szynkowski vel Sęk stated on Republika TV.
The Law and Justice (PiS) politician was a guest on the morning program, where he extensively discussed the latest developments and provided an overview of the events leading to the current situation.
He emphasized that revealing the plans of Tusk’s first government was “an important deterrent signal to any aggressor.” He further expressed outrage that Mariusz Błaszczak is now being held accountable for something akin to what Joe Biden declared in Warsaw—namely, that not a single inch of land should be ceded. Szynkowski vel Sęk noted that the former Minister of National Defense is being prosecuted for disclosing the plans, while Donald Tusk, whose government devised and approved them, is not facing any consequences.
A Threat to the Functioning of the State Apparatus
Michał Rachoń’s guest was asked about the charges against Błaszczak.
This is meant to be a signal, one piece of a broader sequence. Those who, from the perspective of the national interest, have made the right decisions in the past are now meant to think twice in the future before making similar decisions, as they may face consequences, admitted the former head of diplomacy.
This has a devastating impact on the state apparatus, added the PiS MP.
He stressed that “it is necessary to support individuals who are under attack” and pointed out that the current attacks are aimed at diverting attention from the incompetence of Tusk’s government.
