Tension After Trzaskowski’s Meeting in Katowice. PO Deputy Leader Flees to Car

Is Rafał Trzaskowski, deputy leader of the Civic Platform (PO), afraid of journalists’ questions? A video recorded after his meeting with residents of Katowice suggests so. “First you have to become friends with Trzaskowski, agree backstage on what questions are allowed, and only then can interviews take place…” commented Law and Justice (PiS) MP Rafał Bochenek with irony.

On April 23, Civic Coalition’s presidential candidate Rafał Trzaskowski held a meeting with residents of Katowice. As previously reported, although his campaign staff spoke of massive turnout, in reality, the only impressive aspect appeared to be strategic photo framing. The event turned out to be a flop—yet again.

But poor attendance wasn’t the only point of criticism. Tarnogorski.info published footage showing the PO deputy leader after the event. In the video, Trzaskowski can be seen walking briskly toward a waiting vehicle, as chants of “You’re going to lose this election” ring out behind him.

Local journalists attempted to ask him questions, but Trzaskowski simply quickened his pace.

Disregard for Journalists

The situation was criticized by PiS MP Rafał Bochenek, who pointed out that Trzaskowski had shown disregard for local journalists. He also responded to the tarnogorski.info outlet with sarcasm.

“First you have to become friends with Trzaskowski, agree backstage on what questions are allowed, and only then can interviews take place… Hey, haven’t you learned that yet??” he wrote.
