The presidential campaign has concluded, and the election is behind us. As a result, Rafał Trzaskowski, Deputy Chairman of the Civic Platform, can finally return to his true self. And indeed, he has—by participating in yesterday’s Equality Parade.
During the campaign, Rafał Trzaskowski carefully avoided displaying his support for the LGBT community—or at least attempted to do so. Whether it was hiding a rainbow flag during one of the presidential debates (as we recall in the example below), or concealing photographs from past Equality Parades in which he had participated.
It’s worth noting that a photo agency affiliated with Gazeta Wyborcza refused to sell a photograph of Rafał Trzaskowski from a previous Equality Parade to the campaign team of Karol Nawrocki. Nevertheless, Paweł Szefernaker, head of Nawrocki’s campaign, published the photo with a visible watermark, asking, “What’s wrong with him?” At the time, Gazeta Wyborcza announced it would take legal action over the unauthorized use of the image.
