The Growing Popularity of Polish Fruits Abroad

Polish fruits have gained increasing demand in international markets. According to recent reports, Poland became the seventh-largest fruit supplier in Europe last year. Among these exports, apples are particularly popular, accounting for 25% of the country’s total fruit exports. In Europe, Poland ranks second in apple exports, and globally, seventh. In 2023, Poland exported apples worth €398.8 million, marking a 32% increase from the previous year. Major markets for Polish apples include Romania, Egypt, Germany, Kazakhstan, and Spain.

Blackcurrants and Gooseberries on the Rise

In addition to apples, Poland is also a key player in the global blackcurrant and gooseberry markets. Last year, Poland exported €5 million worth of these fruits, making it the third-largest exporter worldwide. Germany remains the largest importer of Polish blackcurrants and gooseberries.

Poland also ranks highly in the export of raspberries and blackberries, holding fifth place in Europe and eighth globally. In 2023, these fruits generated €41.3 million in export sales, with Germany, the Netherlands, and the Czech Republic being the primary buyers. Polish strawberries, plums, and pears also see high demand abroad, contributing significantly to the country’s growing fruit export sector.
