“All available measures were taken to verify radar indications of a possible violation of Polish airspace. The actions carried out did not confirm the indications of our systems and thus did not confirm any violation of Polish airspace,” the Operational Command of the Armed Forces reported this morning.
On Saturday at around 4:30 p.m., the Operational Command of the Armed Forces announced that military aircraft were operating due to the threat of strikes by unmanned aerial vehicles in regions of Ukraine bordering the Republic of Poland.
Around 6:00 p.m., an alert from the Government Centre for Security (RCB) was sent to recipients in several counties of the Lublin province.
“Threat of an air attack. Exercise particular caution. Follow the instructions of the authorities. Await further announcements,” the message read. Alarm sirens sounded in Świdnik and Chełm.
At 6:35 p.m., the Operational Command reported that aircraft operations had concluded and military systems had returned to standard operational activity.
At 6:43 p.m., the Government Centre for Security announced on social media that the RCB alert had been cancelled.
Today, the Operational Command issued a new statement regarding the events of September 13.
“With regard to the military’s activities on September 13, 2025 related to the threat of a violation of our airspace, we inform you that all available measures were taken to verify radar indications of a possible violation of Polish airspace. The actions carried out did not confirm the indications of our systems and thus did not confirm any violation of Polish airspace,” the statement said.
“It should be emphasized that the system records could have resulted from prevailing weather conditions, but they required our response due to the presence of objects in the vicinity of our border. A similar situation occurred yesterday in Romania, where radar indications were also recorded and the air defense system was activated,” it added.
