From Monday until the end of July, the Polish Armed Forces will conduct military exercises in Opole, Zawadzkie, and Turawa. Residents and tourists may encounter soldiers and military vehicles in forested areas. Authorities are urging the public not to photograph them or publish any images or footage from the exercises. On Tuesday, air raid sirens may also sound across the region as part of the nationwide “ALARM 2026” exercise.
During the exercises, the Opole Voivode’s press office said that people may encounter uniformed personnel moving individually or in small groups, as well as military vehicles traveling on forest roads.
The Voivode’s Office is urging the public not to photograph soldiers or military vehicles and not to publish their images. Officials stressed that the exercises are purely for training purposes and pose no threat to residents. The office also assured the public that there is no reason for concern.
At the same time, the Voivodeship Office reminded residents about the nationwide air raid warning and alert exercise, codenamed “ALARM 2026,” scheduled for Tuesday. As part of the exercise, air raid sirens and other elements of the public warning and alert system will be activated. During this time, residents may hear acoustic warning signals. Officials emphasized that all signals will be issued solely for training purposes and do not indicate any real threat.
