The President commented on the Sejm’s decision regarding the Central Transport Hub (CPK) project. “Important and courageous!”

“Poland first! Poles first! This motto is being realized in the #YesToCPK bill,” said President of the Republic of Poland Karol Nawrocki, commenting on today’s decision of the Sejm on the presidential draft concerning the Central Transport Hub.

The Sejm did not accept the Left’s (Lewica) motion to reject at first reading the presidential draft law on ensuring the construction of the Central Transport Hub. Thus, the project was referred for further work in the committee. It includes, among other things, the earlier launch of the new airport.

A total of 203 deputies voted in favor of rejecting the presidential project at first reading, 211 were against, and 12 abstained. The Sejm decided to refer the project for further work in the infrastructure committee.

The presidential bill provides, among other things, for the completion of construction work on the new airport near Baranów by the end of 2031, the launch of civilian air traffic by the end of 2032, and the development of approximately 2,000 km of new railway lines, including High-Speed Rail. It also stipulates: transferring all air traffic from Warsaw Chopin Airport to the CPK no later than the end of 2032, introducing a ban on subsidizing air connections by state-owned entities, and financing the CPK program with government securities worth at least PLN 66.18 billion. President of the Republic of Poland Karol Nawrocki commented on the matter.

“Poland first! Poles first! This motto is being realized in the #YesToCPK bill, which, as a result of today’s vote, passed its first reading and was sent to committee work. I thank all the Parliamentarians who supported #YesToCPK. An important and courageous decision! For Poland, for the Polish people,” he emphasized on social media.
