The Revenge Continues: Sroka Files a Motion to Arrest Ziobro

Magdalena Sroka boasted on social media that a motion to arrest Zbigniew Ziobro has been submitted to the court. Is this a way to vent her frustration after today’s blunders? It certainly looks that way.

Arrest of Ziobro

Not long ago, the Sejm agreed to lift the immunity and apply up to 30 days of detention against the former Minister of Justice and Prosecutor General, Zbigniew Ziobro (PiS). This was in response to a request from the Pegasus investigative committee to impose a disciplinary penalty for his failure to appear at a hearing.

At that time, 239 MPs voted in favor, 194 against, and no one abstained.

Ziobro himself commented on the matter on our station, calling it nothing but an act of desperation.

“They fear for their status because they know I am not someone they can negotiate with. Tusk promised 100 concrete actions in 100 days, so this kind of demonstration of effectiveness—by arresting a well-known right-wing figure—is interesting,” he said.

Did She Lose Her Temper?

The chairwoman of the so-called Pegasus committee suffered two major defeats today.

As we recall, in the morning, former CBA chief Ernest Bejda announced that the Warsaw District Court had rejected the committee’s motion to penalize him for failing to appear at a hearing. Why? Because the “professional” committee made a blunder—the date on the motion was incorrect. What an unfortunate mistake!

Later, PiS MEPs Maciej Wąsik and Mariusz Kamiński also failed to appear before the committee. They issued statements online, citing a ruling by the Constitutional Tribunal, which states that Sroka’s committee was formed improperly and is therefore illegal.

Interestingly, in Wąsik’s case, there was a complete logical inconsistency. He was fined for failing to appear at 11:00 AM, even though his hearing was scheduled for 2:00 PM.

She Filed the Motion

After 1:00 PM, Sroka announced in the media that a motion to arrest Zbigniew Ziobro had been submitted to the Warsaw District Court.

How does it look? Like an act of frustration.

“The motion for a disciplinary arrest of Zbigniew Ziobro to ensure his effective questioning before the #PegasusCommittee was submitted today to the Warsaw District Court. The hearing is scheduled for June 23-25 of this year,” she stated.
