Within seven days of operations against Iran, U.S. forces struck more than 3,000 targets linked to the country, the military reported on Friday. As a result, 43 Iranian vessels were destroyed or damaged.
The military listed the targets of the American strikes as including command and control centers, headquarters of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), air defense systems, and vessels of the Iranian navy, including submarines.
Adm. Brad Cooper, head of the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), stated that Iran has so far struck 12 other countries and is deliberately attacking civilians in the Middle East.
On Tuesday, Cooper announced that more than 50,000 soldiers, 200 fighter jets, two aircraft carriers, and bombers are involved on the U.S. side in Operation Epic Fury. At the time, he also said that additional assets would be deployed to the region. He emphasized that this is the largest concentration of U.S. forces in the Middle East in a generation.
