Dealing with Prime Minister Donald Tusk’s declarations is a “somewhat futile endeavor”; analyzing how realistic those declarations are is time wasted, said PiS chairman Jarosław Kaczyński when asked about the four pillars of government presented, which consist of 58 priorities. According to Kaczyński, the entire governing mechanism of Civic Platform (PO) is based on manipulation.
On Friday, Minister for the Oversight of Government Policy Implementation Maciej Berek presented 58 government priorities, grouped into four areas: a safe Poland and safe citizens, a competitive and innovative economy, an efficient state and high-quality public services, and a modern digital state.
Asked at a press conference about these pillars, Kaczyński stated that “dealing with whatever Donald Tusk happens to declare at a given moment is a somewhat futile endeavor.”
“Over the years, there have been so many different kinds of announcements that I believe studying the relationship between the 100 concrete commitments and these 58 goals, and analyzing how realistic they are, is simply wasted time. Because it’s obvious they won’t carry them out, or almost none of them,” the PiS leader assessed. He added, “And if they do, it won’t be in the way they promise.”
According to Kaczyński, the current government is not a democratic one.
“Also in the sense that democracy is based on a certain assumption—that those who present their goals during election campaigns have the will to implement them. Here, it is hard to believe that Donald Tusk ever thought he could achieve 100 goals in 100 days,” Kaczyński argued.
In his view, the entire governing mechanism of PO is built on manipulation. “And such governments are simply the opposite of democracy, because it means constantly deceiving society,” Kaczyński insisted.
