“Both Pawełek and our family will vote for Karol Nawrocki. We encourage all kind-hearted people like us to cast their votes for him as well,” says Paweł’s mother from Sochaczew in a heartfelt recording. She also described how her family has had to face crude attacks in recent days.
It all began in November last year when Nawrocki visited the “Ja-Ty-My” Occupational Therapy Workshop (WTZ) in Sochaczew. Journalists weren’t particularly interested in this visit—they preferred asking about current political affairs. Paweł’s mother, whose son is supported by the workshop, couldn’t remain silent.
“Do you realize where we are and why we’re here? Aren’t you interested in how such an amazing, crucial place functions in our lives? You’re not asking about it, even though it’s everything to us. All these employees make our lives better, allowing our children—who possess many different skills—to express themselves thanks to their dedicated work, even though they’re truly undervalued. But you’re not interested. Politics is fine, but must it be everywhere and in every context?” she asked TVN journalists pointedly.
Paweł was in the spotlight again a few days ago. During Nawrocki’s next visit to Sochaczew, the young man was invited on stage by the presidential candidate. This proved too much for Nawrocki’s opponents. Paweł’s mother spoke openly in the recording about the harsh attacks her family endured.
“The genuine affection between a disabled boy and Mr. Karol Nawrocki stirred up such negative emotions in times when we’re supposed to have tolerance, when we’re supposedly all equal and have equal rights. It’s deeply saddening,” she concluded.
