They Want to Strip PiS Politicians of Immunity. Kaczyński: “This Is Simply Part of the Election Campaign”

PiS politicians are set to lose their immunity during the ongoing session of the Polish Parliament (Sejm). “This is simply part of the election campaign,” commented the party leader, Jarosław Kaczyński.

The Sejm began its session today and will address, among other matters, a bill on the rules for delegating judges, motions to lift parliamentary immunity for PiS politicians Dariusz Matecki, Jarosław Kaczyński, and Mariusz Błaszczak, as well as amendments to the Act on the Council of Ministers. A reporter from TV Republika asked the opposition leader in the parliamentary corridor about the lifting of immunities.

“This is simply part of the election campaign, as well as an attempt to intimidate. If one wants to create a German Europe, then society must be intimidated,” stated PiS leader Jarosław Kaczyński.

Kaczyński also briefly commented on the illegal pushbacks of migrants from Germany to Poland. He claimed that German authorities bring migrants to the Polish border and leave them there.

“A German Europe is in the making, and this government is executing a non-Polish policy; as a result, it does not defend Poland’s borders,” Kaczyński said.
