The drone incident in Osiny stirred political instincts, with politicians commenting on the unfolding reports without hesitation. Civic Coalition MP Alicja Łepkowska-Gołaś also joined the discussion. Unfortunately for the politician, her brief statement was riddled with slips of the tongue.
On the night from Tuesday to Wednesday, near Osiny in the Lublin region, an incident occurred in which a flying object fell into a cornfield and exploded. The blast shattered windows in nearby houses. On Wednesday afternoon, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense (MON) Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz announced that the object was a Russian drone and stressed that the incident was a Russian provocation, taking place at a particularly sensitive moment as discussions about peace in Ukraine continue. The explosion is being investigated by the military and the prosecutor’s office.
And even though little is still known about the incident, television studios quickly filled with questions on the matter. Alongside experts, politicians also voiced their opinions.
Civic Coalition MP Alicja Łepkowska-Gołaś fell victim to the sharp eyes of internet users, who widely shared an absurd fragment of her statement online.
“I would like to reassure everyone… This drone appeared in public space at a very low altitude. That is why it was difficult to detect it on all those speed cameras,” – she said during her appearance on Polsat News.
