For the illegal possession of weapons and ammunition without a permit, journalist Leszek Kraskowski has been placed in custody for three months. According to unofficial findings reported by Niezalezna.pl, the case concerns an Italian-made Bruni Mod. P4 9 mm P.A.K. alarm pistol, a device available for purchase online for a few hundred złoty and not adapted to firing live ammunition.
Leszek Kraskowski, known for revealing information inconvenient for Roman Giertych (Civic Platform), including details related to the Polnord case, was arrested on Tuesday for three months. He has been charged with making criminal threats as well as illegal possession of a gas pistol and ammunition without a permit.
The situation has sparked outrage in Poland’s journalistic community and parts of the political scene. Statements were issued by journalistic organizations, including the Polish Journalists Association and Press Club Polska, as well as the Ombudsman.

According to unofficial findings of Niezalezna.pl, the weapon for which Leszek Kraskowski was placed in three-month custody is the BRUNI MOD. P4 CAL. 9 mm P.A.K., manufactured in Italy.
As sources available online indicate, it is not adapted for firing live ammunition and does not constitute a firearm designed to discharge projectiles. The P4 model operates using 9 mm P.A.K. (Pistole Automatik Knall) cartridges, i.e. blank or gas ammunition intended for alarm pistols.
An alarm pistol of this type can even be purchased online, and its cost is around 300 złoty.
