Between February 27 and March 3, the Police Academy in Szczytno has organized a special course covering the anti-counterfeiting efforts for 20 officers from throughout Poland.
A specialist course on fighting currency counterfeiting is a very significant element of the service of police officers. This is because they deal with this type of crime on a daily basis.
Practical classes are carried out, e.g. by specialists from the Polish Security Printing Works (PWPW) and the National Bank of Poland (NBP).
The program of the course covers issues in the field of combating money counterfeiting, including: international and national legal regulations and anti-counterfeiting systems, national law and the anti-counterfeiting system, tactics of selected activities in money counterfeiting cases, including the rules of dealing with seized coins and methodology of conducting preparatory proceedings in money counterfeiting cases, recognizing counterfeits of coins, rules of inspection and search of a counterfeiting centre, as well as detecting activities in combating money counterfeiting.
