Tomasz Łysiak for Niezalezna.pl: The Migrant Invasion Is Already Underway – Poland Must Be Defended

For years, right-leaning media in Italy have been sounding the alarm over what they describe as an “invasion” of migrants entering the European continent. Italy, after all, is one of the primary entry points for illegal immigration into Europe.

At times, conservative newspapers even created dedicated sections titled “Invasion” to cover the sheer volume of related developments. In addition to the media, ordinary citizens have played a key role—posting videos online showing disruptive and often aggressive behavior from individuals who disregard local norms and standards of living. These videos often depict acts of vandalism, violence, and confrontational behavior on the streets.

Official crime statistics indicate that migrants are disproportionately represented among those charged with serious crimes such as murder, rape, and robbery compared to native Italians. It is Italian society itself that has begun to push back against this trend, raising its voice and ultimately voting into power figures like Giorgia Meloni and Matteo Salvini—leaders whose rise is closely linked to the public’s growing concerns about illegal immigration.

In contrast, Polish society has yet to exhibit a comparable level of response, despite clear indications that the situation is escalating. Recently, a young woman from Toruń, Klaudia, was left fighting for her life after an attempted rape and murder by a Venezuelan national residing in Poland illegally.

This case was highlighted in a powerful post on the social platform X by user Zygfryd Czaban, who criticized not only the inadequate response from public institutions, but also the muted reaction from society at large. Private outrage is no longer enough—we need organized civic action.

The Border Defense Movement has proposed initiatives such as citizen patrols, marches, and peaceful protests (including those held at government offices and public institutions) as ways for Polish society to actively resist what it sees as a growing threat. These actions must go beyond the conservative media sphere and engage the wider public. Incidents like the attack in Toruń should trigger widespread condemnation and protest on a national scale.

If we fail to act now, we may soon find that it is too late.
