Cezary Tomczyk, the Deputy Minister of National Defense, announced yesterday that Anna Zalewska, a Member of the European Parliament (MEP) affiliated with the Law and Justice party (PiS), had been removed from her position as a member of the Social Council of the 23rd Military Spa-Rehabilitation Hospital in Lądek-Zdrój. However, it appears that another person with the same name and surname was mistakenly dismissed, as Zalewska herself stated that she has never been a member of the council.

“According to today’s decision by the Ministry of National Defense, Mrs. Anna Zalewska has been dismissed from her position as a member of the social council of the 23rd Military Spa-Rehabilitation Hospital SPZOZ in Lądek-Zdrój,” read the information published on January 11 on Cezary Tomczyk’s profile on the X portal, the Deputy Minister of National Defense.
Zalewska responded to his post, stating that she has never been and is not a member of the council. This suggests that the leadership of the Ministry of National Defense mistakenly dismissed a person with the same name and surname as the PiS MEP.
“Minister Tomczyk, I would like to inform you that I WAS NOT and am not a member of the Social Council of the 23rd Military Spa-Rehabilitation Hospital in Lądek-Zdrój. I do not know how you could have dismissed me from it,” wrote Zalewska.
In her post, she also appealed to politicians from the Civic Coalition (PO) who spread “fake news” about her allegedly receiving a salary of PLN 12,500, demanding a correction of the information and an apology. She also warned that otherwise, she would take the matter to court.
“A month hasn’t passed, and the scale of lies and fake news spread by politicians of the Coalition on December 13 exceeds all democratic standards. What are you afraid of?” she pointed out.
