A tragic incident occurred on Saturday afternoon in Warsaw’s Praga-Południe district, where a police officer lost his life during an intervention. The officer was accidentally shot by a fellow policeman in what authorities described as a chaotic and dangerous situation.
Police had been dispatched to the scene in response to reports of an aggressive man wielding a machete. According to initial reports from Telewizja Republika, the fatal shot was fired by a young officer who had only recently joined the force and was serving his first day on duty.
The Warsaw police confirmed that the accidental shooting took place during the apprehension of the suspect. Despite the efforts of medical personnel to save him, the injured officer succumbed to his wounds.
