Trump on Murder of Young Ukrainian Woman: “America Must Get Tough on Criminals”

U.S. President Donald Trump commented on the shocking murder of a young Ukrainian woman in Charlotte, North Carolina. In a special address from the Oval Office, he called for a decisive fight against crime in Democrat-run cities.

Trump: This Is the Result of Democratic Policies

Trump openly placed responsibility for the tragedy on city authorities and Democratic Party politicians:

“For far too long, Americans have been forced to endure Democrat-run cities that set loose, savage, bloodthirsty criminals to prey on innocent people. Really very, very innocent people. In every place they control, radical left judges, politicians, and activists and they’ve adopted a ‘catch and release’ for thugs and killers,”

the U.S. president said.

Referring directly to the crime in North Carolina, he stated:

“In Charlotte, North Carolina, we saw the results of these policies, when a 23-year-old woman, who came here from Ukraine, met her bloody end on a public train,”

he recalled.

The U.S. president showed a surveillance photo capturing the moment before the tragic event:

“This is the photo of it. And this is the photo of the woman, a beautiful young girl that never had problems in life. With a magnificent future in this country. And now she’s dead. She was slaughtered by a deranged monster who was roaming free after fourteen prior arrests,”

he emphasized.

Trump added that repeat violent offenders pose a deadly threat:

“We cannot allow a depraved criminal element of violent repeat offenders, to continue spreading destruction and death throughout our country,”

he said.

He also reminded that the vast majority of America’s most dangerous cities are controlled by Democrats:

“Twenty-four of the top twenty-five most dangerous cities in America are run by Democrat mayors. Fifty people weremurdered in Chicago in recent weeks, with hundreds being shot. And it’s time to stop this madness,”

he declared.

The American leader assured that restoring safety does not have to take years:

“It can be done (…) Chicago needs help. Other cities need help. We’ll do what has to be done, because we’re going to make America safe again. And that includes our big cities. We’re going tomake those cities safe. Thank you,”

he concluded his speech.
