Trump Returns to the White House: A Historic Inauguration

Donald Trump will officially return to the White House on January 20, following his victory in the presidential election on November 5. The swearing-in ceremony, traditionally held at the Capitol, will take place indoors due to freezing temperatures in Washington, marking the first indoor inauguration since Ronald Reagan in 1985. Distinguished guests include former presidents Bill Clinton, George Bush, and Barack Obama, as well as global leaders such as Giorgia Meloni and Nayib Bukele. Notable tech leaders, including Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg, will also be present.

Events and Adjustments Due to Weather

With temperatures hovering at -14°C, many traditional events were modified. The inaugural parade along Pennsylvania Avenue was replaced with an indoor celebration at Capital One Arena, where Trump promised to address supporters. The day will start with a church service at St. John’s Episcopal Church, followed by Trump’s oath at noon and his inaugural speech.

After the ceremony, Trump will sign his first executive orders in the Oval Office. A ceremonial lunch will follow, allowing the new administration to begin its work immediately. The inauguration festivities conclude with three grand inaugural balls, honoring soldiers, supporters, and donors.
