Tusk Blasts Morawiecki over ‘Pro-Russian’ Allegations—But the Response Was Swift and Brutal!

Mateusz Morawiecki, as head of the ECR, supported George Simion yesterday in Bucharest in the presidential elections in Romania. Donald Tusk decided this was a perfect opportunity to attack the former prime minister. Tomasz Sakiewicz, editor-in-chief of “Gazeta Polska” and chairman of TV Republika, responded!

Voice of support

Yesterday, during a press conference in Bucharest, Morawiecki openly supported George Simion’s candidacy in Romania’s presidential election. The former head of the Polish government pointed out that he had recently been several times in Washington with George Simion, working together for the good of Europe.

“Simion is very well known to us because his role is invaluable. He has always been a bridge between European patriots on the right and the left side of the parliament. My friend, Simion stands out for this stabilizing role—not only in his country but across all of Europe. He’s a very sensitive man. People know he understands economics, finance, budgetary matters. We spent many hours talking about these subjects,” said the former Polish prime minister.

He also added:

“I believe truly democratic elections will take place in Romania. I believe in Euro-Atlantic cooperation—between Europe and the United States. I’ve been recently many times in the United States with Simion. We conducted numerous conversations together with the American administration, with representatives of the Republican Party. That’s exactly what we need in Europe. More cooperation between Europe and the United States. More internal cooperation. More conversation. That’s what we also need in Europe—and in Romania. Romania needs stabilization. And not only Romania but the whole European Union requires such stabilization.”

Morawiecki recalled the historical speech of American Vice President J.D. Vance, directed at European bureaucrats.

Tusk as a hater

The fact that Morawiecki supported a right-wing candidate infuriated Donald Tusk. He decided to use this opportunity for another attack on the PiS politician. Obviously (no longer surprising), in the context of… pro-Russian ties. And look who’s talking?!

“Morawiecki supported George Simion in the presidential elections in Bucharest. He’s the leader of the openly pro-Russian and anti-European AUR party. Romania is a key partner in defending the eastern border of the EU and NATO. They aren’t even pretending anymore,” Tusk wrote on x.com.

Sakiewicz responds!

Tomasz Sakiewicz, chairman of TV Republika, reacted to Tusk’s post. He debunked the narrative of the December 13 coalition leader in a few sentences!

“This is an absolute lie. George Simion is the most pro-American politician in Romania,” he pointed out at the beginning.

Further, we read:

“You count on your voters’ illiteracy and try to justify an attack on democracy in Romania. But what can one expect from a guy who fist-bumped Putin over the body of the Polish president.”
