Rafał Trzaskowski, the Civic Coalition’s candidate for president, announced today that together with his party leader, Donald Tusk, they have decided to change the date of the previously announced “Patriots’ March” to May 25. An April Fools’ joke? Social media users are wondering!

The Real Patriots’ March
Jarosław Kaczyński, leader of Law and Justice (PiS), called on “all patriots to participate in a march to celebrate the 1000th anniversary of the Polish Kingdom and the 500th anniversary of the Prussian Homage—symbols of Poland’s will, sovereignty, and national strength.”
The event is scheduled for April 12 at 12:00 PM in Warsaw.
Tusk Announced His Own!
Donald Tusk clearly wasn’t happy with the patriotic movement’s initiative and shortly after, he announced his own march. The December 13 coalition had previously declared that their march would take place on May 11—exactly one week before the first round of Poland’s presidential elections. Quite the… coincidence. Because, of course, like everything Tusk’s team touches, this event was supposed to be entirely “apolitical.” Well, that was a joke—after all, it’s April Fools’ Day.
Just a few days ago, Tusk posted on X:
“The best response to PiS’s April march will be a massive May Patriots’ March. This May will decide whether Poland will be strong and safe or isolated and weak. Are we in? Sunday, May 11, Warsaw, high noon. Let me know if you’ll be there!”
Today, however, he announced that the march will take place on a different date. And of course, still “apolitical”—right between the first and second rounds of voting.
Attention! Change of Plans!
“The Great Patriots’ March will take place on May 25, before the second round of elections, in line with President Rafał Trzaskowski’s insightful recommendation. This will allow for full mobilization of democratic patriots. All together! So: Sunday, May 25, Warsaw, high noon!”
Trzaskowski Confirmed
“I am absolutely convinced that it would be best for this march to take place between the first and second rounds, as it is meant to unite all democratic forces.”
— Trzaskowski stated today.
Do internet users agree? Tusk’s post has sparked a storm of reactions!

Wiadomo, kij tam w jakieś 1000-lecie Królestwa Polskiego, kij tam w jakieś jednoczenie Polaków wobec wspólnej historii i dziedzictwa

Zamiast wielkiego marszu Polaków, mamy wielki marsz partyjniaków, tzn "demokratycznych patriotów", acz Ojczyzną nie Polska, a @Platforma_org
