“A man who in 2022 was too afraid to travel to Kyiv even with a full security escort is in no position to lecture me on what should have been done. So be quiet, coward!” wrote PiS MP Mateusz Morawiecki in a message addressed to Prime Minister Donald Tusk. This came in response to an earlier online attack by the head of government.
Tusk Attacks Morawiecki
On Friday, a new MESKO production hall was officially opened in Skarżysko-Kamienna. Prime Minister Donald Tusk attended the event. Shortly afterward, a video referring to the visit was posted on his social media profiles.
“Do you see this projectile? This is one of a million projectiles produced here, at MESKO in Skarżysko-Kamienna—a million in a single day,” Tusk said in the video.
Internet users quickly pointed out that the Prime Minister did not seem to know what he was referring to. A projectile is only part of a cartridge—an ammunition unit that also includes the casing, primer, and gunpowder charge. What the Prime Minister was actually holding was a full cartridge.
Tusk then went on to criticize PiS MP Mateusz Morawiecki in a post on X:
“Morawiecki, on behalf of Poland, committed to paying interest on a loan for Ukraine. So much for the facts,” Tusk wrote.
“Be Quiet, Coward!”
Morawiecki responded with strong words:
“A man who in 2022 was afraid to go to Kyiv even with protection won’t lecture me on what needed to be done. So be quiet, coward! And educate yourself—that’s a cartridge in the photo, and the whole internet is mocking you for calling it a projectile,” he wrote.
