Donald Tusk has been abandoned by his political allies in Europe and therefore turned to Roman Giertych in an effort to challenge the outcome of the presidential election — said MEP Dominik Tarczyński (Law and Justice party) on the program “Guest Today.” He assured viewers that the final result would not change and that Karol Nawrocki would become the President of Poland.
The 20th Congress of Gazeta Polska Clubs is currently underway in Sulejów. During the event, journalist Danuta Holecka hosted the program “Today” live, followed by a guest appearance by MEP Dominik Tarczyński, who was warmly welcomed by attendees.
The discussion centered on the attempts to contest the election results. Tarczyński reiterated that the final verdict would remain unchanged and explained the origins of the tens of thousands of election protests.
“Roman Giertych initiated the campaign, posted a form, and instead of submitting their own protests, people were simply submitting Giertych’s template. The result is that tens of thousands of supposed protests are effectively one, since they all concern the same issue,” he said.
“It’s laughable, and one might be tempted to treat it as a joke, were it not such a clear sign that they lack the class, dignity, and honor even to accept defeat. In politics, one must know how to lose with grace. They refuse to come to terms with the nation’s decision,” he stated.
Undermining the Presidency
According to Tarczyński, attempts will likely be made to discredit Karol Nawrocki as President — and this would not be the first time.
“You will recall how the late President Lech Kaczyński was treated. Or how President Andrzej Duda was mockingly called ‘a pen.’ They were not merely undermining individuals, but the office itself — the highest office in the state. And now, it is all starting again,” he said.
“A campaign of hatred is beginning — ridicule, harsh criticism of clothing choices — it all starts subtly. This is how they intend to shape the narrative, to tarnish his image, hoping to gain a few percentage points in the political struggle. They know that unless they weaken the legitimacy of this mandate, they will lose again in two years,” he emphasized.
Tarczyński pointed out that Civic Platform lost both the parliamentary and presidential elections.
“The fact that they managed to cobble together a coalition of parties that had lost to Law and Justice has now resulted in the breakup of the ‘Third Way’ alliance,” he concluded.
Tusk the Engineer
The MEP firmly believes that the effort to challenge the presidential election results was orchestrated by Donald Tusk himself.
“Tusk is the engineer behind it all. He pretends to be above the fray, while sending Giertych as his proxy to formally contest the results — even though there is no legal basis to do so,” he said.
“The election report was signed by everyone — including Mr. Kalisz. He signed it, even if without enthusiasm,” he noted.
He also emphasized that after Nawrocki’s victory, congratulations poured in from around the world — including from liberal leaders.
“What does that tell us? They didn’t consult Tusk, who now finds himself in the second or third tier of influence. They made their own decision — to accept the choice of the Polish people — because there is no way to reverse the outcome. In short, he has been abandoned by his own political base,” Tarczyński said.
“Tusk, aware that the elites had turned their backs on him and that he no longer enjoys strong backing, had no choice but to rely on Giertych — because Giertych was all he had left. And the result? Everyone is laughing,” he concluded.
