Tusk’s Threats During Government Reshuffle Announcement: “We Will Eliminate What Constitutes Internal Sabotage”

During the announcement of his government’s reshuffle, Donald Tusk once again publicly threatened his political opponents. He declared his intention to “ruthlessly eliminate everything that constitutes internal sabotage, internal aggression against the Polish state.”

At the press conference where he presented the changes to his cabinet, the Prime Minister also addressed the opposition. His remarks suggested that the reshuffled government would continue its repressive stance toward opposition forces.

“At the same time, this government will restore order, hierarchy-something obvious. The state exists to provide order and security to its citizens. And we will ruthlessly eliminate everything that constitutes internal sabotage, internal aggression against the Polish state. I’m starting with the gravest issues, because we must realize that there is no room or time here for lighthearted or anecdotal politics,”
Tusk declared.

The Civic Coalition (KO) leader also stated that “there are political scoundrels who are willing to turn every problem, every fear, every anxiety into political gold—and they too pose a threat to Poland’s security and public order.”

Tusk also commented on the results of the presidential elections.

“The last presidential election not only showed the deep divisions and polarization-practically a 50/50 split-among voters and within Polish families, but it also showed that… I would like to say this very openly today: October 15 was not the end of the confrontation between good and evil. Because I am convinced that this is precisely what it is-a confrontation between good and evil,”
he said.
