TV Republika has been granted a license to broadcast a second program—Republika Plus. “TV Republika has an alternative,” stated the station’s president, Tomasz Sakiewicz.
Maciej Świrski, Chairman of the National Broadcasting Council (KRRiT), announced yesterday that a broadcasting license has been granted to TV Republika S.A. for the dissemination of a television program entitled Republika Plus. The station’s president, Tomasz Sakiewicz, shared the excellent news with viewers on air.
“I have just received, dated April 23, a license for TV Republika’s second channel. This is a satellite and cable license that allows us to broadcast a second TV Republika channel, with a somewhat different profile,”
said Sakiewicz.
“TV Republika has an alternative. If our license on MUX were to be revoked, we now have other options at our disposal. These are domestic solutions within Poland, but we are also contemplating additional scenarios,”
the station president continued.
“It is not a normal situation to have to establish an entire media group just to broadcast a single program. But that is our only form of security. If we are taken off the air, in place of one shut-down channel, two or three new ones will emerge,”
announced Tomasz Sakiewicz.
