Police have entered the headquarters of the National Broadcasting Council (KRRiT) – reported TV Republika.
According to TV Republika, police officers at the headquarters of the National Broadcasting Council are inquiring about Maciej Świrski.
Świrski to Be Brought Before the State Tribunal
On July 25, the Sejm, with votes from the ruling coalition, adopted a resolution to bring Maciej Świrski before the State Tribunal. 237 MPs voted in favor, 179 against, and 16 abstained. The coalition accuses the Chairman of KRRiT of, among other things, blocking subscription funds for public media and conducting excessively lengthy licensing procedures for private broadcasters.
“We consider the decision of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland to bring Maciej Świrski, Chairman of the National Broadcasting Council, before the State Tribunal as a politically motivated attack on a constitutional body,” the National Broadcasting Council emphasized in a statement.
