TV Republika Settles Full 2026 Broadcasting License Fee After Regulator Rejects Installment Plan

“In line with an earlier pledge, TV Republika S.A. has paid all installments of this year’s broadcasting license,” Tomasz Sakiewicz announced on behalf of the company’s management board. The National Broadcasting Council prevented the fees from being spread out until a final ruling by the Administrative Court.

At its most recent meeting on February 18, the National Broadcasting Council once again considered TV Republika’s request to divide the license fee into installments. Two members supported the station’s position, while two voted against – which meant that consent was not granted.

Following this decision, the management board of TV Republika resolved to pay the entire license fee by the end of the year. The station’s president, Tomasz Sakiewicz, informed the public of this move.

“In line with our earlier promise, TV Republika S.A. has paid all installments of this year’s broadcasting license. Unfortunately, the National Broadcasting Council was unable to decide on spreading the payments until a final ruling by the Administrative Court. This seemed like a fair and logical solution”, he wrote.

He also thanked “those members of the National Broadcasting Council who, in the existing legal situation, attempted to find a legal solution consistent with social norms.”
