Poland has bolstered its defense capabilities with the recent addition of two S-70i Black Hawk helicopters, manufactured by PZL Mielec, to its Special Forces. Minister of National Defense Mariusz Błaszczak announced the arrival, highlighting the significance of these helicopters in fortifying the country’s armed forces.
S-70i Black Hawk: A Global Export
Derived from the versatile UH-60 Black Hawk, the S-70i is the export version produced by PZL Mielec, a subsidiary of Lockheed Martin Helicopter Company since 2007. Widely employed by Polish police and Special Forces, these helicopters have also been exported to countries such as Saudi Arabia and Chile.

Multirole Capabilities
Primarily designed for transport missions, the S-70i Black Hawks can be armed with weaponry, including machine guns, to support ground infantry. This flexibility enhances their effectiveness in various military operations.
