USA Pledges to Safeguard Poland’s Security, Trump Praises Strong Alliance

Last weekend’s Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) took center stage as President Donald Trump met with Poland’s President Andrzej Duda. In a notable first encounter with a European leader at the event, both presidents highlighted their shared commitment to defense and cooperation.

Trump praised Poland for its increasing investment in NATO, commending the country’s efforts and calling the Polish people “one of the best groups” he has ever met. He also recognized President Duda’s leadership, recalling that 84 percent of Polish Americans voted for him in a previous election. “I’m very committed to Poland,” Trump declared, underscoring the close bond between the two nations.

President Duda, who later spoke with Polish media, emphasized the significance of American troops and economic presence in Poland. “It’s important that we have cooperation with the United States that benefits both countries,” he said. Duda also remarked on Trump’s favorable stance toward Poland, citing the nation’s contributions to defense. “We spend nearly five percent on our own defense. Poland matters.”

These remarks signal a reinforced pledge of solidarity at a time when NATO’s role in ensuring European security remains critical. Both leaders’ statements suggest a continued focus on strengthening defense ties, with the White House confirming the value of Poland as a staunch ally—and President Trump repeatedly voicing his personal commitment to standing by Warsaw’s side.
