“Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Hungary have undergone an economic transformation over the past two decades that now serves as a model for many countries around the world,” President Karol Nawrocki said.
In Esztergom – the historic capital of Hungary – a summit was held with the participation of the presidents of the V4 countries: Poland’s Karol Nawrocki, Hungary’s Tamás Sulyok, the Czech Republic’s Petr Pavel, and Slovakia’s Peter Pellegrini.
During his statements to the press, President Nawrocki emphasized the need to deepen cooperation in this area among the V4 states, including in building energy and gas interconnections.
“Our shared interest – as I believe – is to further strengthen infrastructure links between the countries of the region (…), including gas interconnections and those in the field of electricity. Energy independence is also an expression of each of our states’ sovereignty,”
the president stressed.
In his address, the Polish leader highlighted that “Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Hungary have undergone an economic transformation over the last two decades that serves as a model for many countries worldwide.” He added, “Our economies are growing faster than the EU average, and the region remains one of the most dynamic manufacturing, service, and technological hubs in all of Europe.”
Before the start of the Visegrad Group Summit, Karol Nawrocki laid flowers at the Monument to King John III Sobieski.
