“We are submitting a request for an audit by the Supreme Audit Office.” PiS intervenes over the dramatic situation in healthcare

“Hospitals across Poland are facing millions in arrears, limiting treatment and access to services. The scale of the problem is enormous and affects more patients every day. That is why we are submitting a request for an audit by the Supreme Audit Office to examine the actions of the National Health Fund as well as the Ministries of Health and Finance regarding planned procedures, particularly diagnostic tests in Poland,” announced Michał Moskal, a Law and Justice (PiS) MP.

For many months, new reports have been emerging about a collapse in the healthcare system under the rule of the December 13 coalition. The NFZ is cutting spending on procedure limits, and more hospital departments are being closed. Hospital directors complain that they have been waiting for months for overdue funds from the NFZ, which is pushing many facilities into a dramatic financial situation.

PiS MPs spoke about the very poor state of healthcare during today’s press conference.

“The government of Donald Tusk is turning the state into a private fiefdom, where ordinary Poles are becoming second-class citizens. Access to basic healthcare services is now being restricted, and decisions by the NFZ and the Ministry of Health are leading to dramatic situations across the country—reintroducing limits on diagnostic tests and failing to reimburse excess procedures. Thousands of patients are waiting, hearing that they may not receive their tests in time. Hospitals across Poland are burdened with millions in arrears, limiting treatment and access to services,” said Moskal.

He added that “the scale of the problem is enormous and affects more patients every day,” and announced that the party would submit a motion to the Supreme Audit Office.

“That is why we are filing a request for an NIK audit to examine the actions of the NFZ as well as the Ministries of Health and Finance in the area of planned procedures, particularly diagnostic testing in Poland. We will expose and document these pathologies as part of the ‘Stop Dysfunctional Governance’ team,” he stated.

Meanwhile, Mariusz Błaszczak announced that “the ‘Stop Dysfunctional Governance’ team, organized by PiS, is resuming active operations.”

“Today, the Polish state under the rule of the December 13 coalition is turning into a fiefdom where those in power attempt to place themselves above the law. The situation in healthcare is particularly dramatic—it is in crisis, and coalition politicians treat it as their own property, putting themselves above patients. We will not allow this. We will expose such cases and demand consequences. We ask that these pathologies be reported to the PiS parliamentary group. We will reveal the mechanisms and connections within state-owned companies. The team is headed by MP Michał Moskal, who will document these actions and expose the coalition’s dysfunctional governance,” he declared.
