“We remember,” the President posted in an emotional message

“We remember,” wrote the President of the Republic of Poland, Karol Nawrocki, on the X platform. The Chancellery of the President also commemorated the victims who tragically died in the Smolensk disaster 16 years ago on its profile.


16th anniversary of the Smolensk disaster

The morning of April 10, 2010, is forever etched in the memory of Poles. At 8:41 a.m., near Smolensk, a Tu-154M aircraft crashed. The disaster claimed the lives of President Lech Kaczyński and his wife Maria, as well as 94 others – members of the Polish delegation traveling to the Katyn commemorations, along with the crew.

Shortly after this dramatic event, crowds began gathering in front of the Presidential Palace on Krakowskie Przedmieście. Sixteen years have already passed…

Today, throughout the day, Poles across the country will commemorate the victims of this great tragedy…

Commemoration of the victims of the tragedy from 16 years ago is also being expressed on social media.

The President of the Republic of Poland, Karol Nawrocki, wrote on his profile: “We remember,” adding a video recalling the disaster.
