The Vatican Press Office has released an official statement revealing the cause of Pope Francis’ death. According to the announcement, the pontiff died as a result of a stroke, coma, and irreversible cardiac collapse.
Pope Francis passed away on Monday at the age of 88, during his recovery from a severe case of pneumonia. He was one of the oldest popes in the history of the Catholic Church. His papacy lasted 12 years and four months.
In an official medical bulletin, Professor Andrea Arcangeli, director of the Vatican health service, confirmed that the cause of Pope Francis’ death was a stroke, followed by a coma and an irreversible cardiovascular collapse.
