What Happens Before the Inauguration? Karol Nawrocki’s Temporary Office Location Announced

Following his victory on Sunday, Karol Nawrocki has become the president-elect. According to information provided by his campaign chief, Paweł Szefernaker, the new president will begin working at the Chancellery of the President on June 11.

The National Electoral Commission officially announced the results of the presidential election on Monday, June 2, confirming the victory of Karol Nawrocki, the candidate supported by the Law and Justice party.

In accordance with the Constitution, the presidential term lasts five years. The current president, Andrzej Duda, began his second term on August 6, 2020, which means he will remain in office until August 6, 2025. According to the Electoral Code, the newly elected president is sworn in before the National Assembly — a joint session of the Sejm and the Senate — on the final day of the outgoing president’s term, that is, on August 6. Upon taking the oath of office, the new president officially assumes the duties of the presidency, while the outgoing president’s term comes to an end.

When Will Karol Nawrocki Begin Work?
Paweł Szefernaker, head of Karol Nawrocki’s election campaign, stated in an interview with Wirtualna Polska that the president-elect will begin working at the Chancellery of the President on June 11 and will continue in this capacity until August 5.

“From June 11 to August 5, Karol Nawrocki, as president-elect, will be working in the Chancellery of the President building on Wiejska Street in Warsaw,” he said.
