”Prime Minister Tusk says ’stop and enough of legislative sabotage’, referring to President Karol Nawrocki, because it is addressed to the president. […] This is coming from Donald Tusk just three days after a sabotage operation on Poland’s railway carried out by people trained by the Russian GRU,” Wojciech Mucha said today, clearly indicating the deliberate strategy of those in power.
On Saturday, the Law and Justice Party (PiS) is organising another event within the series “Myśląc Polska. Alternatywa 2.0”. Wojciech Mucha has been invited to take part in a discussion devoted to disinformation and methods of effectively countering it.
The Gazeta Polska columnist referred to Prime Minister Donald Tusk’s “five”. He accused the government of being willing to exploit even narratives from Belarusian and Russian propaganda and disinformation to attack their political opponents – “They (those in power – ed.) are ready to use even the threads of Belarusian and Russian propaganda and disinformation to strike at their political opponents”, he said.
He recalled: “We remember what happened during the propaganda operation at the border – how the army, the Border Guard, and other services defending our state were portrayed. Today, the same people in Donald Tusk’s iron five are calling not to attack the Border Guard”. As he added, “it is hard to imagine greater hypocrisy”.
He continued: “I mentioned this ‘five’ especially because of the third point. I think this is something that has not happened before. Prime Minister Tusk says ‘stop and enough of legislative sabotage’. He refers to President Karol Nawrocki, because it is addressed to the president. He is the one who is supposed to end the alleged ‘legislative sabotage’.”
Mucha noted: “This is coming from Donald Tusk just three days after sabotage on Poland’s railway involving people trained by the Russian GRU.”
In his view, “the point is to create this semantic link in the minds of their audience”.
He explained: “The president is thus portrayed as the same kind of saboteur as those Russian intelligence operatives who tried to derail a train.”
“When I saw it, I couldn’t believe my own eyes. I really thought the prime minister would not go that far,” the journalist said.
