“Where is Poles’ money?” Law and Justice (PiS) MPs conduct parliamentary inspections in major State Treasury companies

“Where is Poles’ money?” – under this slogan, MPs from Law and Justice (PiS) visited three major State Treasury companies today. The party led by Jarosław Kaczyński has declared a “budget alarm.”

Last week, Business Insider reported that since State Treasury companies listed on the stock exchange began being managed by “specialists” appointed by the December 13 coalition government, a combined net loss occurred in four out of eight quarters.

In the last quarter of 2025, the total result of all 19 listed State Treasury companies amounted to a loss exceeding PLN 1 billion.

Today, during a press conference, Law and Justice (PiS) candidate for prime minister Przemysław Czarnek announced that parliamentary inspections would be carried out in the indicated companies by PiS MPs. The politicians are to ask company boards “where Poles’ money is.”

“We are talking about three strategic State Treasury companies, also responsible for security and operating in the security sector, which recorded record losses in the fourth quarter of 2025,” Czarnek said this morning.

Orlen recorded a net loss of PLN 5.5 billion in that period which – according to him – is the largest quarterly loss in the company’s history. He added that JSW recorded a loss of PLN 3.4 billion, while Grupa Azoty reported a loss of PLN 4.2 billion.

And indeed – the inspections have begun.

“Where is Poles’ money?”

Law and Justice (PiS) MPs Anna Gembicka and Michał Kowalski carried out a parliamentary inspection at Orlen today.

“We have completed a parliamentary inspection at Orlen. The situation is truly difficult, because in the last quarter of last year the net loss exceeded PLN 5 billion – this is a record loss. And unfortunately, this affects all Poles, which is why we are asking where Poles’ money is,” Gembicka said after the inspection.

Michał Kowalski added: “We are asking where Poles’ money is and posing questions to the Orlen management as to why it plans to pay such a gigantic dividend. Over PLN 9.3 billion will go into various prices. Ladies and gentlemen, this is a scandal – with a loss of PLN 5.5 billion last year, a dividend payout of PLN 9.3 billion. A scandal – Tusk’s government should resign!”

Another pair of Law and Justice (PiS) MPs – Michał Moskal and Grzegorz Woźniak – visited the headquarters of Grupa Azoty in Puławy.

After the inspection, Moskal published the following statement:

“Budget Alarm at Grupa Azoty! Over PLN 4 billion loss for the group in 2025. Where is Poles’ money? PLN 75 million for advisory services – 1,416% more than in 2023, including hiring, for example, Civic Platform’s chief economist Andrzej Rzońca; over PLN 21 million for law firms – an increase of 1,436%. The promises were beautiful, but melamine production has not returned, and since 2023 more than 600 people have lost their jobs – all of this in the Puławy plant alone. Moreover, healthy branches of the company, such as Remzap, are being valued and prepared for sale.”

As he added, “the billion-zloty losses of State Treasury companies mentioned today by Przemysław Czarnek will affect us all. These are thousands of families who will be stripped of dignity, deprived of jobs and livelihoods, because these are meant to serve only Tusk’s associates.”

Among those who went to the headquarters of Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa was Law and Justice (PiS) MP Marek Wesoły.

“Following Prof. Czarnek, our candidate for prime minister, here in Silesia we are also declaring a budget alarm. We are declaring a social alarm – an alarm that today concerns State Treasury companies,” he wrote on X.
