“First the abolition of the CBA, then the division of money from SAFE. Roman Giertych, Sławomir Nowak and Tomasz Grodzki know why the order matters”, wrote Przemysław Czarnek, the Law and Justice (PiS) candidate for prime minister, on social media.
During the recent session of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland, MPs from the December 13 coalition passed a bill abolishing the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau (CBA) as of October 1. According to the bill, the Bureau’s competencies would be taken over by the Polish Police, the Internal Security Agency (ABW) and the National Revenue Administration (KAS), while anti-corruption protection would be handled by the police, ABW and the Military Counterintelligence Service (SKW).
A total of 231 MPs voted in favor of adopting the government’s bill amended in the parliamentary Committee on Administration and Internal Affairs, 180 voted against, and 18 abstained. Earlier, the Sejm rejected a motion by the Law and Justice (PiS) parliamentary club to dismiss the bill.
Zbigniew Bogucki, head of the Chancellery of the President, has already announced that the head of state will not sign the bill.
Czarnek: The President Will Throw It in the Trash
During one of his recent speeches, the Law and Justice (PiS) candidate for prime minister, Prof. Przemysław Czarnek, pointed to what he believes are the reasons behind the ruling coalition’s actions. He added that, according to information provided by the head of the Presidential Chancellery, President Karol Nawrocki will not sign the law abolishing the CBA.
“They want to abolish the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau. It’s all connected. We will be carrying out scams – these Tusk people tell themselves – but no one can control us, so before we start the scams, we’ll abolish the CBA. Well, you won’t do it, because President Karol Nawrocki will throw it into the trash. The CBA will remain”, said Czarnek.
The Law and Justice (PiS) candidate for head of government also published a social media post today on the plans to abolish the CBA.
“First the abolition of the CBA, then the division of money from SAFE. Roman Giertych, Sławomir Nowak and Tomasz Grodzki know why the order matters. Poncyliusz with a phantom company already in line?”, wrote the politician.
