There are many indications that, in the event of Rafał Trzaskowski’s loss, the government may truly not recognize the results of the election — wrote attorney Bartosz Lewandowski on X, commenting on Prime Minister Donald Tusk’s decision to extend the current alert levels. In a statement, Tusk referred to the need to “prevent recent intensified attempts of foreign interference in Poland’s electoral process.” According to Lewandowski, the decision and the “entire media operation” in recent days may suggest that the government will not accept the election results if Karol Nawrocki wins.
Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced yesterday the extension of the BRAVO and BRAVO-CRP alert levels. This is related to hybrid and cyber threats posed by Russia and Belarus.
“I have decided to extend the BRAVO and BRAVO-CRP alert levels due to hybrid and cyber threats from Russia and Belarus. We will prevent the recent escalation of foreign interference attempts in our electoral process,”
the Prime Minister wrote on X.
Attorney Bartosz Lewandowski responded to the Prime Minister’s statement and actions. In his opinion, there is reason to fear that the government may not recognize the results of the second round of the presidential election if the outcome is not favourable to them.
“There are many indications that, in the event of Rafał Trzaskowski’s defeat, the government may truly not recognize the election results. The entire media operation and the Prime Minister’s official statement suggest as much. Unbelievable,”
wrote Lewandowski.
Poland’s four-tier alert system — Alfa, Bravo, Charlie, Delta — was introduced under the Anti-Terrorism Act. It regulates the principles of anti-terrorist actions and the cooperation of state administrative bodies. In the case of cyber threats, each alert level is supplemented with the acronym CRP (Cyberspace Readiness Procedure). According to the law, alert levels are determined by the Prime Minister at the request of the Minister of the Interior and Administration or the Internal Security Agency.
