As winter holidays draw near, scheduled from mid-January to February 25, the spotlight is on mountainous destinations in Poland. Currently, the average cost for a 2-person stay in a 4-5 star hotel, including meals, is under 600 PLN. This marks a 50 PLN increase compared to last year, signaling a potential stabilization in the tourism industry.

The 2024 holiday season kicks off with students from Lower Silesian, Masovian, Opole, and West Pomeranian voivodeships. Remarkably, bookings for winter breaks are already 28% of all reservations, with a 61% surge compared to 2022.

Notably, the booking window has shortened, anticipating a surge in last-minute bookings. The average stay duration has also decreased to 4.27 days, compared to 4.84 in 2019.

Mountainous regions, especially Zakopane, lead the preferences, with an average nightly cost of 89 PLN per person. Krynica-Zdrój, gaining popularity among cross-country skiing enthusiasts, offers affordable stays at slightly over 80 PLN.

Globally, mountain destinations witness a 7% increase in bookings, with coastal areas and city breaks following suit. Szklarska Poręba emerges as the top choice, hinting at a bustling winter ahead.
