Polish goalkeeper Wojciech Szczęsny faced a serious injury during Saturday’s Serie A match between Juventus and Torino. Reports suggest he immediately underwent surgery.
During the derby, Szczęsny, defending for Juventus, was injured late in the game when Torino’s Adam Masina struck him in the face contesting for a corner kick.
Szczęsny, bleeding from his nose, received on-field treatment but later confirmed to have a broken nose by Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri. He was swiftly taken to the hospital for emergency surgery.
