Woś: The Sejm Censors the Truth About the Polnord Scandal and Giertych’s Role!

The Sejm has taken a controversial step—blocking the broadcast of the session of the Parliamentary Team for Counteracting Lawlessness “Safe Poland.” The meeting focused on the high-profile Polnord scandal and the involvement of Roman Giertych. Speaking on Telewizja Republika, Michał Woś, a PiS MP and chairman of the team, commented on the matter.

“There is no doubt: we are dealing with censorship and an attempt to cover up an inconvenient case,” the politician stated.

The Polnord Scandal – A Scheme to Funnel Millions

During the team’s session, a detailed mechanism was revealed regarding how enormous sums of money were siphoned from Polnord and state-owned companies. According to investigative findings and journalists, Roman Giertych’s name appears in the scandal, as he acted as the legal representative of Ryszard Krauze and received enormous fees.

“MPs have the right to perform their mandate, including oversight. We wanted to hear details on how Polnord’s vast assets were funneled away. However, the Sejm authorities decided to censor the session and not broadcast it on their platforms,” said MP Michał Woś on Telewizja Republika.

The operation’s scheme was simple yet effective. As investigative journalist Leszek Kraskowski explained, a company linked to Roman Giertych’s bodyguard purchased land for 7 million PLN, only to sell it to Polnord a few days later for 27 million PLN. The difference—20 million PLN—vanished through a network of financial transfers.

The Sejm Blocks, but Free Media Reveal the Truth

Despite attempts to silence the topic by not broadcasting the team’s session, the matter was not swept under the rug.

“There are free media, there is Telewizja Republika, which revealed the truth. Poles were able to learn the facts, not insinuations and fabrications,” Woś added.

According to the disclosed information, the Polnord scandal does not end with land transactions. Documents indicate suspicious financial flows between companies, as well as a massive, later forgiven loan of 13.5 million dollars to a Russian firm in Novosibirsk. These actions raise serious doubts about the intentions of those involved in the scheme.

Why Did Roman Giertych Avoid Hearings?

According to parliamentarians and journalists, Roman Giertych deliberately avoided legal proceedings.

“Over 100 summonses for 21 hearings—he didn’t show up to a single one. He was hiding in Italy, and suddenly the case was mysteriously dropped. There is no access to the dismissal document—it stinks to high heaven,” Michał Woś assessed.

Adding to the intrigue, Roman Giertych is the lawyer for the Tusk family, has political ambitions, and since October 15, 2023, has been positioning himself as someone who supposedly has the right to hold others accountable.

“It is no secret that he is a close associate of Donald Tusk, the man Tusk put on the party lists, made deputy chairman of the parliamentary club, and head of the accountability team,” Woś reminded.

All these threads point to a larger problem—the politicization of the prosecution service. Woś notes that after Donald Tusk took power and Adam Bodnar gained control of the prosecutor’s office, inconvenient cases started to disappear.

“First, Tusk took over the media so that no one would talk about it. Now, he has taken over the prosecution to cover up the affairs of his cronies. For years, we have talked about the mafia-like system surrounding Tusk—now we see it in action,” Woś stated.

Everything suggests that the Polnord scandal is far from over. The parliamentary team has announced further actions, and its members are demanding full disclosure of the documentation related to the decision to drop the investigation against Roman Giertych.
