Prosecutor Ewa Wrzosek has been delegated to the Warsaw District Prosecutor’s Office until June 24, and it remains unclear whether this delegation will be extended beyond that date, according to the Niezalezna.pl news portal. Until that time – i.e., through Tuesday – Wrzosek remains the case officer in the investigation concerning the so-called “Two Towers” case.
During the course of the investigation, she questioned the late Barbara Skrzypek. The former associate of Jarosław Kaczyński was interrogated for several hours by a team of three legal professionals, while she was denied the presence of her legal representative. A few days after the questioning, Skrzypek died of a heart attack.
Many commentators have held Wrzosek morally responsible for her death. Following the incident, the prosecutor temporarily withdrew from social media. However, she has recently resumed posting on platform X, with much of her content criticizing the leadership of the Prosecutor’s Office.
“Prosecutor Ewa Wrzosek remains in charge of all cases assigned to her at the beginning of her delegation to the District Prosecutor’s Office. The delegation is in effect until June 24. I have no information regarding whether it has been extended,” said Piotr Skiba, spokesperson for the Warsaw District Prosecutor’s Office, in a statement to Niezalezna.pl.
The Warsaw District Prosecutor’s Office is expected to release an official statement regarding Prosecutor Wrzosek later on Wednesday.
