Polish Chamber of Commerce: put your mask on while shopping!

The appeal for absolute covering of the nose and mouth during visits to all shops and service outlets was issued on Friday by the Polish Chamber of Commerce (PIH). This is due to the high number of COVID-19 cases reported in recent days.

On Friday, the Ministry of Health reported laboratory tests had confirmed coronavirus infection in a further 657 people. This is the highest number of confirmed cases in 24 hours since the beginning of the epidemic. In total, there were over 45.6 thousand cases. PIH reminds that covering the nose and mouth is an obligation resulting from the regulations in force during the epidemic. He also points out that, according to the available opinions of state authorities, the store staff has the right to refuse service to a person without a mask, to draw attention to or instruct on the content of the regulations. He can also call the police, which can punish for not having a mask. The Chamber indicated that people with medical contraindications to wear masks were exempt from covering the nose and mouth, but appealed against abusing this exclusion and using it only in duly justified cases.
