Szłapka about the Orlen’s boycott. Mazurek: there are no limits to the disrepute and stupidity of the total opposition

The appeal for Orlen’s boycott, which hires 20 thousand employers, is extremely irresponsible – emphasised the Member of the European Parliament of the Law and Justice Party (PiS) Beata Mazurek. According to her, Adam Szłapka’s post that ‘he does not buy on Orlen’ presents that ‘there are no limits to the disrepute and stupidy of the total opposition’.

Orlen Group informed that it made a bid for the redemption of publishing company Polska Press. Thanks to that, Orlen will have access to over 17.4 million users and to readers of 20 regional journals, 120 local weekly newspapers and, inter alia, ‘Dziennik Bałtycki’, ‘Polska The Times’ or ‘Dziennik Polski’. The publishing company is also the owner of 500 websites. According to Orlen, Polska Press is one of the largest publishers in Poland which in 2019 had achieved incomes at the level of over 398.4 million PLN.

Politics of the total opposition – the Left and Civic Coalition – referred critically to this decision. On Monday (7 Dec 2020), some politics wrote twits that it is ‘Putinisation’ and ‘PiSinisation’ of the media and that this is ‘a process of building propaganda machinery’.

On Wednesday, the head of Modern (political party), MP of Civic Coalition declared on Twitter: “I don’t buy on @PKN_ORLEN”. The Mazurek also referred to it on Twitter.

‘The appeal for Orlen’s boycott, which hires 20 thousand employers, is extremely irresponsible. This entry shows that there are no limits to the disrepute and stupidity of the total opposition’ – she declared.
