The President of National Bank of Poland (NBP) Adam Glapiński signed a model collector’s banknote with the image of President Lech Kaczynski, which is due to be introduced into circulation in November on the occasion of Independence Day. It’s about a denomination of PLN 20. Its planned edition is a maximum of 80 thousand pieces.
The announcement of the introduction of the banknote with the image of Lech Kaczyński and the solemn acceptance of its design was made at the Conference of the President of NBP on Friday. On Saturday, TVP Info reported that President Glapiński had signed the banknote.
‘On the 11th anniversary of the Smolensk Air Disaster, I signed a collector’s banknote dedicated to Lech Kaczyński, President of the Republic of Poland, who died in tragic circumstances in Smolensk,’ said the President of NBP.
‘By edition of this banknote, which is particularly important – I think – for millions of Poles, and especially important to me personally, because I had the privilege and pleasure of working with President Prof. Lech Kaczynski, we want to pay tribute to the great man,’ he added.
NBP plans to introduce the banknote into circulation in November this year on the occasion of Independence Day.
