The historic moment of the Polish Himalaism. Bargiel reached the virgin Yawash SAR II and ski down

Andrzej Bargiel was the first in history to reach the virgin Yawash Sar II (6178 meters above sea level) peak in the Karakoram and ski down – informed “Everest Today” on Twitter. This is another historic event of the Pole. He has similar deeds in his account also at the highest peaks of the world, e.g., K2 or Manaslu.

Earlier he skied down from K2 (8611 m) in the Karakoram as the first person in the world.

The plan of the present trip was clear – first Bargiel wanted to reached and ski down from the virgin Yawash Sar II (6178 m) in the Karakoram, and then repeat the act on another of the six-thousandths – Laila Peak (6096 m), known for its beautiful, shooting profile. The first part of the trip was just a success.

This time, for the first time in the ski mountain exploration, he will be accompanied by a free-rider ski – Jędrzej Baranowski. Another participant in the event is the Himalayas and high-mountain filmmaker Dariusz Załuski, the winner of five eight-thousand recipients (including K2 and twice Everest), winner of many mountain-themed film festivals, including the main prize at the International Festival of Mountain films in Vancouver 2009.

Bargiel has been implementing for seven years the author project in the mountains of the highest “Sunt Leones”, which aims to build high peaks at a fast pace, if possible, in the Alpine style (without setting up camps) and then ski down. In 2013, he reached Shishapangma (8013 m), a year later Manaslu (8156 m, both in the Himalayas), in 2015 Broad Peak (8051 m) and 2018 K2 (8611 m) in the Karakoram.
