Morawiecki at International Leaders Forum: We have a chance to send a very significant signal to the rest of the world

Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki referred to building EU-US relations and cooperation during a leadership dialogue organized by the Atlantic Council. In the context of international security, he said, “We share the same value system of interests regarding challenges on the horizon like Russia, international terrorism, China, and we should address them together”. He also referred to the issue of Nord Stream 2 and the key role of the US in stopping the implementation of this project.

The Head of the Polish government took part in the Leaders’ Dialogue organized by the Atlantic Council. A three-day conference is an event dedicated to shaping multilateral relations and the future of transatlantic cooperation in the face of contemporary challenges and threats.

The Forum was an opportunity to discuss geopolitical conditions and economic and social dependencies. They also discussed the importance of U. S. engagement and partnership in strengthening balance and security in Europe.

Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki spoke with Ian Brzezinski. He presented the main assumptions of Poland’s post-pandemic recovery plan, i. e., investments in Green Deal projects, digitalization and infrastructure development, also in the regional dimension.

Morawiecki stressed the need for greater U. S. involvement in the strategic post-pandemic recovery of the Three Seas Initiative, which will tap into Central and Eastern Europe’s large investment potential.

“I think that this new dimension that we have created together with other countries – the Three Seas Initiative – is still underestimated by the US administration,” – he said.

Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki also spoke about building mutual relations and EU-US cooperation in the context of threats to international security – escalating tensions and the threat from Russia and China’s economic expansion.

“We share the same value system of interests regarding challenges on the horizon like Russia, international terrorism, China, a potential fourth wave of pandemics, climate change challenges and inequality and we should address them together,” – he pointed out.
